You wake up, it’s wedding dress shopping day! An You wake up, it’s wedding dress shopping day! And while you are SO excited to finally try on dresses for the first time, you’re also thinking of ways to turn down the bridal stylist if you don’t love a dress. You’re thinking this is going to be like that time you went to the car dealership and ended up with an Audi with all the upgrades when you came for the standard setup your college bank account could actually afford. If you’re scared to have an in person bridal shopping experience for fear of being pushed into buying a gown you don’t love, read this first. At Love Era, my #1 rule is “don’t put a bride in a gown that is over budget” and my #2 rule is “dresses don’t have feelings, and neither do I (only half kidding)” — the first rule is to protect that uneasy gut feeling you get when you are spending more than you truly wanted to. You get to call those shots, not me. Only you know what you are willing to spend and it is so important for me to respect that. I’ll only allow you to fall in love with dresses in the budget, that is my biggest promise to you. The second rule is to encourage pure honesty. Please tell me what you love and what you don’t love about a dress! It won’t cry on the rack after we put it back (I promise) and I or any other stylist will not be upset you didn’t like our pick. Your body language can tell us you do or don’t love something, but only your words can confirm exactly WHAT that is and help us help you get closer to your dream dress. The only time you’ll ever feel a push from me is to try on different styles when you aren’t feeling what we’ve already tried, and I let you guide the sale when you’re ready. Of course I’d love for every bride to be a #LoveEraRealBride — if it wasn’t meant to be, my feelings are not hurt at all. In fact, I’ve had friends who shopped at Love Era and found their dress somewhere else. That’s how I treat you. I’m the big sister who will be 100% real with you, if I can see you are not feeling fully confident, radiant, joyful, excited, it’s a no until YOU say it’s a yes.
